چکیده
Background: Acinetobacter baumannii is one of the most important known causes hospital infections worldwide that resistant to many common antibiotics. Efflux pumps are among main reasons behind resistance in this bacterium. Objectives: This study was conducted investigate presence efflux pump genes (adeI, adeJ) clinical antibiotic-resistant isolates A. Tehran hospitals. Methods: One hundred fifty samples wounds, urine, sputum, and blood were collected periodically (6 months) from identified using biochemical methods. After conducting tests, final confirmation performed by examining blaOXA-51-like gene molecular polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. The disk diffusion antimicrobial susceptibility testing Mueller Hinton agar growth medium according Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines on nine Then investigated for adeI adeJ genes. Results: Examining antibiotic showed level varied 48.1% 98.2%, depending type. In study, highest lowest tetracycline gentamicin, respectively. Also, positive tetracycline, amikamycin, ceftazidime, ceftriaxone. Isolates negative these two sensitivity imipenem, ciprofloxacin. Conclusions: correlation test PCR results significantly increased all Therefore, evaluating proves be useful identifying strains appropriate drug treatment. Of course, role other factors creating should not neglected.

متن کاملDetection of Efflux Pump Using Ethidium Bromide-Agar Cartwheel Method in Acinetobacter baumannii Clinical Isolates
Introduction: In the past decade, multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii has become one of the most critical challenges in treating infected patients. The AdeABC efflux pump is the most important among the various resistance mechanisms. This pump can force various antibiotics and ethidium bromide out of the bacterial cell to the surrounding environment. Methods: In this study, nine A. baum...
متن کاملEvaluation of Phenotypic and Genotypic Expression of Efflux Pumpin Clinical Isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii Resistant to Ciprofloxacin and Gentamicin
Introduction: Acinetobacter baumannii is an important bacteria because of high ability to obtain antibiotic resistance genes and creation of multi-drug resistant strains (MDR). Today, the active efflux pumps has been suggested as one of the most important mechanisms of intrinsic and acquired resistance of antibiotics in bacteria. The aim of this study was Evaluation of phenotypic and genotypic ...
